Pets

McLean Gardens prides itself on being a pet-friendly community and a place where pet owners strive to make sure that their pets are also good neighbors to all other residents.  We have an active Pet Committee that works to make pet ownership a plus for everyone.  Residents who keep pets are responsible for complying with the Association’s policies regarding pets.

Residents may keep no more than two cats, or one cat and one dog.  A second dog that is certified as a service animal may be kept if approved by the Covenants Committee.  In addition to dogs and cats, a resident may keep two caged birds, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, mice, guinea pigs, or turtles, and/or an aquarium of fish.

All dogs and cats must be vaccinated as required by D.C. law.  The Association expects all pet owners to provide clean and humane living conditions for their animals and to keep their animals in good health.  All residents must register their cats and dogs annually with Management between April 1 and May 31. New residents must register all pets within 30 days of moving into their units.
